Gray Televsion’s WILX-TV (Lansing) has added journalist Eric Lacy to its newsroom. Lacy has covered news and sports for the Lansing State Journal since 2015. Throughout his career, he has been an enterprise, breaking news and government accountability reporter, and his knowledge and experience will be a great asset to the News 10 team.
“I have appreciated Eric’s work over the years,” said General Manager Debbie Petersmark. “So, I know his experience will help News 10 continue to lead the way in the market.”
Lacy will assume the role of Managing Editor of the WILX newsroom, which includes both News 10 and Fox 47 (WSYM-TV) News. He will oversee the assignment news desk working with news crews on story assignments, as well as copy editing television and digital stories.
“Eric grew up in Mid-Michigan so his knowledge and the relationships he has built over the years with key people in our community will be very beneficial to News 10,” said News Director Barb Roethler. Lacy graduated from Michigan State University and has also worked for The Detroit News, MLive and The Flint Journal.
“The opportunity to work for my hometown TV station was simply too good to pass up. I’ve been dedicated to journalism since my days at Waverly High School in the mid-90s and will do everything I possibly can to help WILX achieve its goals. I grew up watching this station and know this is simply where I need to be,” Lacy said.
Lacy’s first day at WILX will be Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
